Kuwohi Tour
Book NowTour Description
- Trade your routine for a day in the clouds with a guided escape to Kuwohi (Clingmans Dome)—the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains and one of the Southeast’s most awe-inspiring destinations. This thoughtfully planned day trip blends scenic travel, light adventure, and time to unwind, all within a single unforgettable outing.
- Your experience begins with a morning pickup at the Asheville Visitor Center at 8:30 AM. From there, enjoy a picturesque drive into Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with portions of the journey traveling along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, known for its sweeping mountain vistas and peaceful overlooks. Your first stop is the Oconaluftee Visitor Center. Take a moment to stretch, explore exhibits, browse the gift shop, and enjoy a comfortable restroom break—keep an eye out for a possible elk sighting in the surrounding fields, as this area is one of the best places in the park to spot them.
- Next, you’ll ascend to Kuwohi (Clingmans Dome), the crown jewel of the Smokies. A short, paved half-mile walk leads to the iconic observation tower, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree views. On clear days, the layered blue ridgelines stretch across multiple states—an unforgettable sight that captures the magic of the mountains.
- After soaking in the scenery, the journey continues into the charming town of Cherokee, where you’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch and have time to explore local shops or simply unwind.
- The day concludes with a scenic return drive and drop-off back at the Asheville Visitor Center, leaving you refreshed, recharged, and inspired—all without the need for an overnight stay.
